Man Utd report Real Madrid

09 June 2008 - 15:17

Manchester United's patience with Real Madrid has finally snapped as the Spanish champions' relentless pursuit of star player Cristiano Ronaldo continues. United threatened to report Real last month, but the club have finally decided to take action.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Ronaldo - who is believed to be considering a move to Spain after the Euro 2008 tournament.

The United communications department said: "On 27 May, Manchester United made clear its intention to report Real Madrid to FIFA if it continued to involve itself in the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.

"Unfortunately, Real Madrid has not kept its own counsel and the club feels it has no alternative but to make a formal complaint to the world governing body, which it has done today.

"The precise content and nature will remain confidential."
