Torres eyes better teamwork

Torres eyes better teamwork

09 June 2008 - 16:02

Fernando Torres is hoping that Spain can win the Euro 2008 tournament as long as they improve on their team work and remain as focused throughout the whole tournament as they are for the first game.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • "The Spanish national team is more than just one player," Torres told his official website. "Euro 2008 will not be just about one player.

"Hopefully it will be Spain's year. It is a short tournament with a maximum of six games, and you have to be fully focused from the start.

"The only pressure we are under is the pressure we exert on ourselves. That is why we should not be seen as favourites.

"I don't think that we are favourites, and we should not consider ourselves as favourites. But there is no harm in hoping for the best.

"We are a young group of players and we are all looking forward to writing a piece of history.

"Our aim is to go as far as possible, and to try and win Euro 2008. It will be hard to find a team with more hope and hunger than we have."
