Manchester United are expected to make an offer for Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos this summer, according to The Telegraph.
The Red Devils were keen on landing Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United last month, but Tottenham Hotspur beat them to the player.
The club are now eyeing a young alternative with potential and have recently opened talks with the representatives of Chelsea's Santos.
It is added that the club are widely expected to make an opening transfer offer to the Blues, though it is likely to be below the £50m price tag.
United are reluctant to pay over the odds for any player this summer, and they are likely to propose a lesser fee upfront with extra add-ons.
Santos has already opened the door to leaving the Blues, having failed to secure a regular starting spot during his breakout season at the club.
Arsenal are also long-term admirers of the player. They are not considering a formal approach with Bruno Guimaraes remaining the top target.
