Diarra not leaving Portsmouth

09 June 2008 - 16:08

Portsmouth chief exec Peter Storrie has ruled out any possibility of talented French midfielder Lassana Diarra leaving the club in the summer. Tottenham had been linked with the former Arsenal and Chelsea man.

  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Storrie told The Portsmouth News: “I've been at the Premier League meeting and have been with representatives of all the clubs."

Tottenham had been ready to bid an apparent £9 million for him: “I had dinner with Daniel Levy from Spurs. If they were interested in Lassana Diarra, I think he may have mentioned something!

“Being that I'm up at this meeting with Spurs I might have had an insight into that.

“Lassana is one of our most important players, and only arrived at the club in January.

“He is not for sale and that is the end of it.”
