Manchester United have confirmed the transfer of Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans for £35 million.
The Belgium international has been a key player for the Villans over the past few years, but he has decided to join the Red Devils.
Villa were helpless to keep him, given the midfielder had a £35m release clause that United were prepared to meet in full.
He has now signed a five-year contract with United and will join pre-season training after his three-week break due to the World Cup.
Tielemans should provide an upgrade in terms of distribution from the centre of the park, but his lack of top speed is still a concern.
Andrey Santos, who recently joined the Red Devils, is likewise vulnerable on the counter-attack and United need more pace and mobility.
Hence, United are most likely to target another midfielder to suit those attributes. Roma's Manu Kone has been linked in recent days.
He could be prised away for around £51 million.
