Arsenal have been quoted a fresh asking price to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes this summer, according to HandofArsenal.
The Gunners are expected to strengthen their midfield department and they have earmarked Guimaraes as the priority target for the Premier League holders.
Guimaraes has already given the green light for the transfer, but the Gunners have yet to hold formal negotiations with the Magpies for the former Lyon man.
HandofArsenal has now revealed that the Magpies have contacted Arsenal to understand their stance on Guimaraes, who could be sold for £80-85 million.
The Tyneside outfit previously valued their talismanic captain at £100m, but seem to have lowered their valuation with the midfielder personally requesting a departure.
Still, the Magpies are unlikely to accept anywhere close to what Arsenal plan to offer (£60m), and the Gunners must improve their proposal to do a deal soon.
Guimaraes is unlikely to force through an exit and plans to leave the Magpies respectfully.
