Manchester United have not made any contact with Barcelona for midfielder Marc Casado this summer, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
The Red Devils have already made two midfield signings in Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans, and are poised to make another soon.
They have reached an agreement in principle with Brighton & Hove Albion for Carlos Baleba and he could join the club in the coming days.
Baleba is presently nursing an ankle injury sustained in pre-season and it may take at least a month before he returns to regular first-team action.
Despite this, the Red Devils are content with the current midfield options and don't plan to pursue a deal for Casado before the transfer deadline.
Casado recently turned down a high-profile move to the Saudi Pro League and believes he has the credentials to play for a top European side.
Benfica and Nottingham Forest are among his suitors at the moment. Chelsea and Newcastle United have been linked with him as well.
