Arsenal hold a keen interest in signing Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen but have no plans to meet his current wages.

  • The Nigerian has been one of the best-performing strikers in European football. He netted 22 goals and provided eight assists for Galatasaray last term.

Osimhen has caught the eye of Arsenal with his performances, and reports claim that the Gunners' hierarchy are in contact with the Turkish champions over him.

The Gunners are prepared to make a huge outlay of £80-90 million in terms of the transfer fee, but they have no desire to meet his net salary of £17 million per year.

Osimhen would need to accept a sizeable pay cut on those wages in order to make the switch to the Premier League holders before the transfer window closes on September 1.

As things stand, there is no indication that the former Napoli man would do so. He looks poised to continue with Galatasaray this term, barring a change of stance soon.
