Chelsea have expressed an interest in landing Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez before the transfer window closes next week, according to The Telegraph.
The west London giants started their campaign with a 3-2 Premier League win over Fulham on the road. Despite the victory, questions were raised about Robert Sanchez's performance between the sticks.
Sanchez has been prone to several goalkeeping errors during his time at Chelsea, and it appears the Spaniard could be replaced with a new shot-stopper before the deadline.
The Telegraph claim that Villa have offered Martinez to the Blues, having signed Zion Suzuki from Parma to take over as the first-choice goalkeeper.
Martinez is said to be open to returning to London after his long spell at Arsenal, and it appears Chelsea would be open to landing his services too.
Personal terms are unlikely to be an issue, though Villa could demand at least £10 million to part ways with the 33-year-old in the coming days.
