Aragones: it wasn't that easy

11 June 2008 - 00:15

Spain coach Luis Aragones has revealed that the 4-1 thumping his side gave Russia wasn't as easy as it looked. Spain started Euro 2008 on the perfect note; with three goals from Valencia man David Villa and one from Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • "It looks as if this was an easy win but it wasn't like that, but this win will help us psychologically," he said.

"A 4-1 win gives us a big boost and it is a win that will not just help us but is also good with a view to our next opponents because they are going to look at us with more respect.

"We must not carried away, however, as in four days we have a game against a difficult Sweden side.

"Physically they are a very strong side and they pressed us hard in the first half," added Aragones. "I thought we were a bit lucky.
