Arsenal could make a serious approach for Roma defender Wesley Franca next year.
The Gunners were linked with the Brazilian ace earlier this summer before he picked up an injury prior to the World Cup.
Franca returned in time for the new season at Roma, but Arsenal decided not to make a formal proposal for his services.
However, they could make a genuine attempt for his signature next summer, with the possibility of Ben White heading out.
White's future was a topic of speculation earlier this year, but Arsenal eventually kept him after Jurrien Timber's injury.
However, the scenario could be different next year. White will enter the last year of his contract with the Gunners in July 2027.
The club seem open to sanctioning his sale and pursuing an upgrade. Wesley has been earmarked as a leading candidate.
The 23-year-old has played as a left or right wing-back for Roma, but he was primarily a right-back in his time at Flamengo.
He is an attacking full-back by trade, and Arsenal believe he would provide a good upgrade in the department going forward.
