Villarreal midfielder Robert Pires has rejected the opportunity to return to his homeland and join Paris St Germain.

The Frenchman instead has revealed he has signed a new deal with Villarreal that will keep him at the club for the next two years.



The former Arsenal midfielder had been also linked with a return to the Premiership, with a couple of teams ready to give him a lucrative contract. Instead, he has decided on a Spanish stay.
