Giuly takes a dig at Barca

19 September 2007 - 13:14

Roma's new midfielder Ludovic Giuly has taken an opportunity to hit out at his old club Barcelona at a press conference. The player also took a swipe at Frank Rijkaard.

  • Giuly hit out at Barcelona's bizarre training routines; claiming that Rijkaard was not strict enough. At Barcelona last year, players could decide when they wanted to train. The chairman has since installed a new code of conduct at the club.

"With Roma the infrastructure is better the training is more intense," Giuly stated.

"More care is taken over training and tactic, while at Barça there is more attention paid to technique.

"Spalletti is always in among the squad, from the first to the last second, while he puts the responsibility onto the players and gives them complete freedom," he said.
