Abramovich called meeting

Abramovich called meeting

20 September 2007 - 10:16

Chelsea's chairmen all last night met to discuss the future of Jose Mourinho - although his plight is well known - it seems that Mourinho himself had no idea he may have to leave Chelsea. Bruce Buck, Eugene Tenenbaum and Peter Kenyon were meant to be at last night’s official launch of Chelsea’s new DVD - however, only Jose Mourinho was present.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • Abramovich, furious with Chelsea's performance against Rosenborg, demanded to know why the side are playing such bad football, why they are not scoring goals and why only 25,000 fans attended a Champions League game.

Abramovich became terminally frustrated with Mourinho because he felt that whenever he demanded something of his manager and the team, he was let down.

The meeting lasted well over 4 hours, and released a statement on the official website at 1.45am, "Chelsea and Jose Mourinho have agreed to part company by mutual consent."
