Samba Misses Greek Trip

Blackburn defender Christopher Samba has been left out of their squad for the First Round Uefa Cup match against Greek side Larissa this afternoon. Samba was on the wrong end of a challenge at Chelsea on Saturday which resulted in him going to hospital with a concussion.

  • He was later released but he suffered a reaction in training earlier this week which prompted Rovers' boss Mark Hughes to leave him out of their squad for todays' match. Andre Ooijer is expected to deputise at centre half alongside Ryan Nelsen.



    Hughes has no other injury concerns for the game which Rovers are expected to come through with a decent result for the home leg in two weeks time.
