Larissa shock Blackburn

20 September 2007 - 21:33

Greek side Larissa have defeated Blackburn 2-0 in one of the shocks of the round in the UEFA Cup 1st Rd, 1st Leg. Two goals from Ibrahima Bakayoko and Silva Cleyton in the space of 77 1st half seconds shocked Blackburn.

  • Predicted Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Crystal Palace, Evans starts
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • Bakayoko's goal was particularly impressive as he smashed the ball home from 30 yards.

A clearly angry Mark Hughes explained, "We are disappointed with the level of performance and product, and we are a better team than that.

"I'm sure at the weekend (at home to Portsmouth on Sunday) our performance will be a lot better, but this is a mystery to us.

"We have made it very difficult for ourselves. The one positive that we have is the defeat could have been greater, so at 2-0 we are still very much in the tie and it will be a different Blackburn at Ewood Park."
