Aquilani to stay at Roma

09 July 2008 - 21:20

Italian side AS Roma have ultimately managed to convince their star midfielder Alberto Aquilani to stay on at the Stadio Olimpico, therefore bringing to an end to Juventus’ hopes of signing the highly rated player.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Aquilani turned 24 on Tuesday and has been demanding a new and improved contract at Roma. It now appears that he has eventually been granted his wish.

Reports in Italy state that Roma have decided to give Aquilani a new five-year deal worth 1.8 million pounds. This agreement of a new contract instills a firm full stop to Juventus’ plot to sign the player this summer.
