Lyon admit Squillaci negotiations

Lyon admit Squillaci negotiations

10 July 2008 - 06:49

French giants Olympique Lyonnais have admitted that Spanish force Sevilla FC are in deep negotiations with them for a possible move for their star defender Sebastien Squillaci.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Former Chelsea boss to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?

  • Lyon's managing director Marino Faccioli has made it clear that the Andalucian outfits indeed are quite interested in signing the French international defender and has also hinted that a deal is imminent.

Squillaci joined Lyon from AS Monaco in the summer of 20006 and was quickly inducted into the first team at the Gerlands. He has since gone onto represent France 13 times and is said to be a huge promise for the near future.

"Sevilla are interested in signing Squillaci, and we have been in touch with them on numerous occasions, including last Monday when our President Jean-Michel Aulas was at a European Clubs meeting in Nyon," Faccioli told ESPNsoccernet.
