It is understood that Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is to ask his club for permission to leave the club within the next 48 hours, according to The Telegraph. The Nerazzurri made an opening offer of £8 million for the player last week.
Jose Mourinho has not hidden his desire to land the England international midfielder, and the player is seen as in integral part of his plans for the future.
Chelsea will be very reluctant to allow the player to leave, and are also understood to be looking for more than triple the fee Inter Milan have offered.
With Lampard and Chelsea at an apparent deadlock in contract discussions; it appears that a move away from Stamford Bridge is looking increasingly more likely.
