Sir Alex Ferguson has reflected on his club's pre-season activities; believing that the trips to South Africa - where they will take on the likes of the Orlando Pirates - will be the perfect prepration for the defending of their Premiership crown.

The Man Utd boss is happy with the challenge that the South African clubs represent, and he feels that the trip will be a ogod base to build on the success of last season.



Ferguson told MUTV: "The games in South Africa aren't easy games. It's a good, competitive level, so that should bring us on a good deal.



"I think by the time we get to the start of the season we'll be really ready."
