Ferguson ready to keep title

15 July 2008 - 15:08

Sir Alex Ferguson has reflected on his club's pre-season activities; believing that the trips to South Africa - where they will take on the likes of the Orlando Pirates - will be the perfect prepration for the defending of their Premiership crown.

  • Gary Neville breaks silence on Ruben Amorim
  • Confirmed Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Brentford, Estevao absent

  • The Man Utd boss is happy with the challenge that the South African clubs represent, and he feels that the trip will be a ogod base to build on the success of last season.

Ferguson told MUTV: "The games in South Africa aren't easy games. It's a good, competitive level, so that should bring us on a good deal.

"I think by the time we get to the start of the season we'll be really ready."
