Sporting Lisbon have rejected a £11.8 million bid for Portuguese young starlet Joao Moutinho. David Moyes has made no secret of his admiration for the talented Portugal international forward; but the Lisbon giants are unlikely to let him leave for less than the £19.7 million on his release clause.
Everton are on the look out for a new striker after Moyes confirmed that Andy Johnson could well leave the club this year.
Moutinho is regarded as one of the best young players in Portugal and in Euro 2008 showcased his talents on the international stage.
Moutinho is capable of playing both up front and in midfield; and it is understood that Moyes will still continue to pursue the signature of the player.
