Charisteas to Stoke City

Angelos Charisteas - the Greek international forward who almost single handedly secured his country Euro 2004 glory over four years ago - looks set to complete a shock move to Stoke City.

It is understood that Tony Pulis has decided to opt for an experienced frontline in the Premiership next season, and Charisteas is the first of his signings for the summer.



Many feel Stoke City are destined for a swift return to the Championship, but signing players such as Charisteas shows some potential.



Charisteas also appeared for Greece in the Euro 2008 this summer.
