New Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson has admitted it feels great to be 'wanted again' after finally leaving Tottenham. The England international replaced Brad Friedel who joined Aston Villa earlier in the week.

  • “I'm delighted to be here, to be part of such an established Premier League football team,” he told Rovers’ official website.

“There had been a lot of media speculation and a lot of hype, I think I'd been linked to between six and ten clubs this summer but once Blackburn's interested was confirmed there was only place I was ever going to come.

“Everyone that I spoke to told me what a great football club this is, people say it is a real football club, they look after you, they look after the players and it is just a great club for me to be at.

“It is great to be wanted again, and that is a big part of your confidence for a goalkeeper, if things aren't going right for you and times are bad then you need people around you that believe in you and want you, which is what I'm going to get here."
