Yaya wants Eto'o stay

29 July 2008 - 21:32

Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure is hoping that Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o decides to stay at the club. There has been a lot of speculation this summer that clubs such as Liverpool are interested in the player.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • "I think that Eto'o is a person with a lot of character, a great personality, and we all want him to continue with us because he is a player who helps and works a lot on the pitch," said Toure.

"He is a person who I respect a lot and it would be great news if Eto'o was to remain here.

"He is in a very difficult situation because it is not easy to be four or five years at a club and then leave the team.

"But he is a very positive person and is acting very professionally. He would like to continue with us. In Scotland he played two pre-season games and showed that he has a very positive mentality."
