Portsmouth chase Ishiaku

23 September 2007 - 19:13

Portsmouth are reportedly weighing up a January transfer move for MSV Duisburg's Nigerian striker, Manasseh Ishiaku. The 24-year-old has only just signed for the German club this summer, but has made a staggering start to his career in the Bundesliga.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Harry Redknapp has spoken to Kanu and his agent Frank Sedoc regarding the striker and has had a glowing reference from his scouts.

The player has performed so well recently, that Berti Vogts, who manages the Nigerian national team, called up the 24-year-old player for the squad for a friendly match with Macedonia, but the player failed to show up.

Ishiaku currently has four goals n the Bundesliga since his arrival for Club Brugge in the summer for £1m.

The man nicknamed "The Buffalo" in his homeland after Everton legend Daniel Amokachi, has also played for KSV Roeselare, RAA Louviéroise and Club Brugge.

If Portsmouth make a move for the hitman, it is expected that the transfer fee will more than triple in price.
