Johnson stays at Boro

11 September 2008 - 16:27

Middlesbrough assistant Malcolm Crosby has revealed that Adam Johnson will be staying at the Riverside, despite the interest of Sheffield United.

  • Man Utd star preparing farewell video ahead of transfer
  • Confirmed Arsenal line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Atletico Madrid, Lewis-Skelly starts
  • "We want to do well in this league so I think it is important that we have him with us,” Crosby told the Yorkshire Post following the speculation linking Johnson with Bramall Lane.

"I understand his frustration, he's a great lad, he's a good trainer and loves his football, but I think my reasons are the most important at the moment. It's difficult for him, but we need a healthy squad."
