Johnson stays at Boro

Middlesbrough assistant Malcolm Crosby has revealed that Adam Johnson will be staying at the Riverside, despite the interest of Sheffield United.

"We want to do well in this league so I think it is important that we have him with us,” Crosby told the Yorkshire Post following the speculation linking Johnson with Bramall Lane.



"I understand his frustration, he's a great lad, he's a good trainer and loves his football, but I think my reasons are the most important at the moment. It's difficult for him, but we need a healthy squad."
