Monaco president Jerome De Bontin has revealed that Brazilian winger Nene has been axed from the club as he was causing unrest. The player was on a year long loan from Espanyol.

  • Chelsea plan shock swoop for Sporting CP star
  • Chelsea have clear stance on signing Victor Osimhen
  • "It was important for the success of the club this season to have a tight-knit squad composed of players ready to show togetherness for the team," he told his own club's website.

"There were guys in the squad with difficult personalities who had trouble uniting with their team-mates. There was a desire on my part to encourage these players to find a new club.

"So with Nene, the conflict was with the club as a whole. It wasn't a judgment on the intrinsic value of the player but his personality did not fit in with the current squad."
