Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is confident that one day his beloved Stamford Bridge side will win the Champions League. Lampard suggested that the accolade may not be achieved this year, but perhaps in the future.
"I think whether it is this year or in the years to come we will win the Champions League," Lampard said in the News of the World.
"We want to win the Champions League this year - make no mistake about it. We have been beaten in the semi-final and we lost in the final last year.
"You just get more and more hungry each year as you go along.
"Every year you start afresh but you know in the knock-out stage one bad performance and you are out. We have learned that the hard way."
