Shearer coy on Toon return

Shearer coy on Toon return

12 November 2008 - 07:35

Alan Shearer is refusing to be drawn on reports linking him with a return to Newcastle, and is apparently unsure whether or not he is ready to make a return to football as he is happy with his commentating role.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • It is understood, according to the Evening Standard, that the former Newcastle forward is being lined up with a return to St James' Park to replace interim manager Joe Kinnear.

Shearer has been linked with the post several times over the past three years, and now could be the time the former free-scoring striker makes a return to management.
