Buffon agent talks up City move

Buffon agent talks up City move

28 November 2008 - 07:01

Silvano Martini, Gianluigi Buffon's agent, has revealed that a move to Man City could well be on the cards. It is understood that the Citizens are ready to pay Juventus £50 million to land the Italian international.

  • "We haven't been contacted directly by Manchester City but I know there has been a lot of interest in Buffon," said Martina.

"But I think City will have to wait until the summer to sign all of the players they want to as they are all in the Champions League and will not want to leave mid-season.

"Also, I don't believe Manchester City are stupid enough to pay the £60m price-tag that has been talked about. I think a fee of around £45m would be more appropriate.'"
