Chelsea ease past Hull

Chelsea ease past Hull

26 September 2007 - 22:06

Avram Grant has had his first win as Chelsea coach as his side ran riot in a 4-0 victory against Hull City. They will now be in the fourth round of the Carling Cup courtesy of strikes from Scott Sinclair, a Damien Delaney own goal, Steve Sidwell and Salomon Kalou.

  • Chelsea midfielder looking forward to London derby vs Spurs

  • Scott Sinclair notched his first senior goal in the 37th minute to start the rout of Championship strugglers Hull and bring a relieved smile to the face of Grant, whose side ended a winless run of four matches.

Damien Delaney then headed past his own keeper under pressure from Salomon Kalou, after good work down the right from Claudio Pizarro.

Second half strikes from Kalou and Steve Sidwell within four minutes of each other ended the tie as a contest before Kalou added his second of the night just for good measure with nine minutes remaining.
