Huntelaar at Real for long term

Huntelaar at Real for long term

04 December 2008 - 08:25

Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has denied that the signing of Klaas Jan Huntelaar from Ajax was not a short term fix, and that the player has a long-term future at the Bernabeu.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • There had been reports that Huntelaar was being brought to the club as a replacement for Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is out through injury for the season.

Calderon quipped: ''Huntelaar brings all the characteristics that we need at the moment. Moreover, he is young and talented.

''Those in charge of the sporting side of things signed him with the idea of keeping him in the future, that he should be with us for five or six years. He is 25. Everyone knows that he is a great striker.''
