Everton are apparently ready to make a move for Benfica striker Nuno Gomes in the January transfer window. Gomes has been at Benfica since 2002, and has always maintained he would one day like to try his luck in the Premiership.
With the long term injury to Yakubu, Everton boss David Moyes is desperate to find a short-term replacement and Nuno Gomes has emerged as a real possibility.
Gomes, 32, still continues to shine in the Portuguese leagues, and famously showed in Euro 2000 against England what a talent he is.
A six month loan deal has been suggested for the player.
