Matias Silvestre to Aston Villa?

There were reports in Italy on Sunday morning that Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has already found a suitable replacement for retired Martin Laursen, Argentinian defender Matias Silvestre.

Silvestre has had an excellent season for Catania, and since arriving at the Italian club from Boca Juniors, has fast gathered a reputation to be a tough-tackling centre back.



There is an excellent chance that Silvestre will even soon play for his national team, should he finally make the move to a bigger side than Catania.



The reports speculate that any deal will cost Aston Villa in the region of £4.5 million.
