24 May 2009 - 07:59

Keko, the young 16 year old who is already breaking records at Atletico Madrid, has everything on his side at this stage. Time, bags of talent and coaches that see potential at him at such a young age.

  • Chelsea join Liverpool & Man Utd in race to sign 26yo
  • Barcelona identify Arsenal midfielder as key transfer target

  • This year, Keko already made history by becoming Atletico Madrid's youngest ever player at 16 years old: "I've fulfilled a dream I've had since I was little because I've always been a fan of Atletico," said Keko.

"For me, I'm proud to be the youngest debutant with Atleti. I will never forget my debut."

Keko has shown remarkable skill and vision for such a young player. For the young sides and Atletico Madrid B, Keko often plays on the right wing or in the middle behind the striker.

The player, whose full name is Sergio Gontán Gallardo, has represented Spain's under 17 and under 18 sides already.

Keko has shown flashes of brilliance in the reserve side, and at times incredible vision as he became Atleti B's most prominent player.

Should Keko continue his outstanding development, he is sure to become one of Spain's best prospects.
