Everton are apparently ready to make a move for Alan Hutton after reportedly admitting defeat in the Toffees' chase for Sheffield United defender Kyle Naughton. Tottenham defender Hutton would join for around £5 million.
David Moyes is a big fan of Hutton, whose season was marred by injury last year, and will pay £5 million for the Scot.
It is understood that Moyes was interested in Hutton when he was at Rangers, but Spurs won the race for the defender's signature.
Moyes will now offer a cut price to seal the deal.
