Fulham shotstopper Mark Schwarzer - reportedly top of Arsene Wenger's shopping list this summer - could be a step closer to joining Arsenal, according to reports. The 37 year old keeper has enjoyed an excellent year at Craven Cottage.

Press reports indicate that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has offered the 37-year-old shot stopper a 1 year deal to come to the Emirates.



It is not understood whether the move would be as a backup goalkeeper at this time.



However, Schwarzer only this week was coy on suggestions he would be quitting Fulham: "I haven't heard anything other than what's been said or written in the papers, so it's purely speculative at the moment."
