Sven-Goran Eriksson has thrown his name into the hat for the vacant Liverpool job after the World Cup. Eriksson is a lifelong Liverpool fan and has revealed that he would be honoured to take charge of the club.

  • Eriksson is currently coaching the Ivory Coast in the World Cup, but after the tournament he would be willing to consider a new destination.



    According to a source lose to the Swede: "Sven is going to quit his role after the World Cup. If the Liverpool role was offered to him - he would definitely accept."



    Liverpool are currently on the hunt for a new coach after Rafa Benitez was sacked this week.
