Premiership battle for Samba?

Premiership battle for Samba?

23 June 2011 - 06:15

It is understood that several Premiership sides are battling to sign Blackburn defender Christopher Samba. Arsenal still remain favourites to land the defender, but Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle are all now interested in the coveted player.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Samba forged an excellent partnership with Phil Jones in the Blackburn defence last year; and the Congo international has been impressive for his club for over two years.

Arsenal have made a 12m GBP offer for Samba, but as of yet no contract has been agreed with the player.

Tottenham will match the 12m GBP offer and Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish is also weighing up a move for the former Hertha Berlin man.
