Manchester United may make a move for Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani, should a Dimitar Berbatov quit the club as expected. It is understood that Diego Forlan recommended his fellow countryman to former boss Alex Ferguson.

Cavani was in sensational form last year for Napoli, scoring 26 goals in 35 Serie A games.



Napoli have warned off potential suitors, saying that they are not willing to sell their star striker.



However, offers of around £20 million are being weighed up by several of Europe's biggest clubs, including Man Utd.
