Sunderland have agreed terms with Ipswich Town for star striker Connor Wickham, according to reports on Wednesday morning. It is understood a 9m GBP fee has been agreed.
Wickham is expected in Sunderland to thrash out personal terms and also undergo a medical with the Black Cats' medical team.
Ipswich are reluctant to sell their star player though, with coach Paul Jewell saying: "We don't want to sell Connor Wickham, but if he wants to leave and the right offer comes in then we'll have to consider it.
"But until then - Connor's never given me any indication he wants to leave - our backs aren't against the wall, we're in control of the situation."
