Arsenal turn attention to Cissokho

Arsenal turn attention to Cissokho

02 July 2011 - 04:56

Arsenal will make Aly Cissokho the replacement for Gael Clichy, should the Frenchman sign for Man City as expected. Cissokho, the Lyon left back, has been linked with a number of clubs but it appears Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may have already persuaded the player to move to the Emirates.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Man Utd serious about signing Rafael Leao
  • Cissokho, aged 23, has spent the last two years with the French giants since arriving from Porto. Lyon value the defender at around 7.5m GBP.

A number of clubs have been chasing the Frenchman, including Liverpool and Sunderland.

However, Arsenal are the preferred destination of Cissokho.

Only last week, Cissokho admitted he was not sure about his future at Lyon: "I have a contract with Lyon.

"Today, the coach has changed and no one knows what will happen.

"I expect a decision by the club so I may know what my future will be."
