Swansea have not yet given up hope of signing former Spain international Marcos Senna, who is available on a free transfer.
"A deal is still a long way off, but we are attempting it," said Swansea boss Brendan Rogers.
Several other clubs are chasing the Spaniard, who appears to be biding his time before making a decision on his next destination.
