04 July 2011 - 05:31

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is currently in his homeland Italy, and is reported to be in discussions with Juventus regarding the signing of Italian international midfielder Claudio Marchisio.

  • Chelsea ready new contract for star midfielder
  • Chelsea make first move to sign Xabi Alonso
  • The player, compared to Marco Tardelli and Alessio Tacchinardi by many in Italy, has been a regular for Juventus' first team since 2006.

Last year however, Marchisio revealed that he was growing frustrated with the lack of silverware at Juventus and hinted that his future may lie elsewhere.

Man City boss Roberto Mancini has an enormous £75m to spend this summer; and according to the report from Italy, £14m of that will be spent luring Marchisio to the City of Manchester Stadium.
