Arsenal could make a move for Marseille attacking midfielder Mathieu Valbuena. Samir Nasri has one year left on his contract and at this stage looks some distance away from signing, therefore Arsenal have turned their attentions to Valbuena and other targets.
Valbuena is valued by his club at approximately £9m, and last season he indicated he would consider a move away from Marseille after a season blighted by injury and lack of first team opportunities. He appeared just 19 times in the league for Marseille last year.
His agent Christophe Hutteau has been quiet on the situation.
"I don't really wish to comment on this matter. All I can say at the moment is that Mathieu Valbuena is still under contract with Marseille. He will resume squad training tomorrow," Hutteau said.
