Stoke City plot move for Hamburg's Michael Mancienne

Stoke City are readying a temporary move for Hamburg defender Michael Mancienne, according to The Mirror.

The former Chelsea man, who joined the German outfit two years ago, is apparently willing to make a return to the Premier League in the winter, having failed to feature regularly for the Red Shorts this season.


It is understood that the Potters boss Mark Hughes is keen on adding the talented defender to his ranks on a restricted budget during the upcoming transfer window, in an attempt to stem the goals conceded by the club's leaky defensive setup this season.


Stoke City have amassed 21 points in 19 matches, placing them 12th in the league standings.
