Bayern Munich withdraw from Mehdi Benatia race

Man Utd and Chelsea have been given a welcome boost in their pursuit of AS Roma defender Mehdi Benatia, after Bayern Munich confirmed that they would not be making a bid for the Moroccan international centre back.
Bayern Munich representatives told German press today that the defender is no longer wanted after the Bavarian side were seemingly priced out of a transfer for the talented defender.
Man Utd are believed to have made signing Benatia their top priority before the transfer window slams shut on the 31st of August and Chelsea are now believed to be second place in the race to sign the Moroccan.
