Vogel nears Everton move

Johann Vogel has moved a step closer to a switch to Everton from Real Betis after the player's agent confirmed that negotiations are ongoing and that Betis will allow him to leave in the January transfer window.

"My experience in Spain was bad," Vogel admitted.

"I now desire a club that I can demonstrate myself and give me those chances for Euro 2008."

Vogel's lawyer also confirmed that Vogel will be ready to leave Betis soon: "With this we have eliminated the need for tribunals, Vogel just wants to play this season."
