Saint-Maximin attracting big-club interest

Chelsea and Liverpool are among the clubs monitoring the performances of Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin.

The Frenchman has been a superb acquisition for the Magpies, and he has been one of their leading performers over the past year.

In the current campaign, the 24-year-old has stood out with two goals and three assists from six league games despite the club being winless.

It is now reported that the Blues and Reds are keeping tabs on him, and could vie for his services in future transfer windows.

Saint-Maximin has less than five years remaining on his existing deal, and the Magpies are in a strong position to keep him.

However, there is speculation that every player has a price at the Tyneside outfit. A £50m fee could be sufficient to sign him.

The Magpies are unlikely to sanction a mid-season deal for the attacker, and any move may have to wait until next summer.

Aside from Saint-Maximin, there is also speculation over Sean Longstaff's future with his contract expiring in June 2022.
