Fofana to Celtic?

Celtic have approached to sign out-of-favour Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana during the ongoing transfer window.

The Ivorian joined the Blues from Molde few years ago, and he was widely dubbed as the new Didier Drogba by many outlets.

However, his career has gone nowhere with the Blues, and he is currently on a year-long loan with Turkish outfit Fatih Karamgumruk.

Celtic have now made an enquiry to the Blues for the 23-year-old, and appear keen on landing him on a permanent transfer.

Negotiations are ongoing. If a breakthrough is found, Fofana could be recalled from Fatih to join the Scottish champions.

Celtic are currently trailing Hearts in the Scottish Premiership and seem determined to add more firepower to their frontline.

They have been impressed by Fofana's form in Turkey. He has netted seven goals from 14 appearances across all competitions.

The Blues could be prepared to sell him for around £5 million, but Celtic are likely to seek a further discount on the price.
